Semarang, 24 Agustus 2025 – Anggota Komisi VII DPR RI, Samuel Wattimena, menghadiri kegiatan Lomba Perahu Dayung yang berlangsung di kawasan Bawen, Kabupaten Semarang. Acara yang diikuti oleh masyarakat, komunitas olahraga air, hingga generasi muda ini menjadi ajang silaturahmi sekaligus wadah pelestarian tradisi olahraga air.
Dalam sambutannya, Samuel Wattimena menegaskan bahwa lomba perahu dayung memiliki nilai strategis, tidak hanya dalam menjaga tradisi, tetapi juga dalam mendorong potensi ekonomi daerah melalui pariwisata berbasis budaya dan lingkungan.
“Kegiatan ini mencerminkan kekuatan tradisi yang harus terus kita lestarikan. Lomba perahu dayung bukan hanya hiburan, tetapi juga potensi besar untuk dikembangkan menjadi atraksi wisata yang berdaya saing,” ujar Samuel.
Selain menekankan pentingnya sportivitas, Samuel juga menggarisbawahi perlunya sinergi antara masyarakat, pemerintah daerah, dan komunitas olahraga dalam mengelola potensi perairan secara bijak dan berkelanjutan.
Kegiatan ini juga diramaikan dengan pameran produk lokal dan hiburan rakyat, yang memperkuat semangat kebersamaan warga Kabupaten Semarang.
